Bessie W. Stevens

Bessie W. Stevens, age 80, of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 1:04 PM. She was born in Plank, Kentucky on March 10, 1928 the daughter of Jake and Emma (Smallwood) Wagers. A homemaker, Bessie enjoyed sewing, crafts and gardening. On November 14, 1949 in Covington, Kentucky she married Clifford Stevens, who passed away September 2, 1976.

She is survived by her children, Charles (Pamela) Stevens of Hamilton, Linda (Walter) Donald of Fairfield Twp., Homer (Brenda) Stevens of Fairfield, David (Pamela) Stevens of Hamilton, Kris Stevens of Hamilton, and Penny (Tim) Widener of Lansing, Michigan; a step-daughter, Margie Weber of Fairfield; a brother, Calvin Wagers of Bristol, Indiana ; several grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Carna Odessa Stevens; a son Clifford Stevens Jr.; and four brothers, Troy, Mack, Bill, and Elmer "Bud" Wagers.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday April 7, 2008 at 11 AM with Pastor Brenda Stevens of God’s House of Sure Deliverance officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10 AM to 11 AM. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati. Bessie’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice of Hamilton.
