Betsy J. Brown

Betsy J. Brown, age 85 of Lakeland, Florida passed away at Tri-County Extended Care Center on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 1:03 PM. She was born in Lockland on November 20, 1923 the daughter of Albert and Rachel (Cox) McKenney. Betsy was a member of First Church of God. On May 16, 1942 in Hamilton she married James H. Brown, and he preceded her in death in 2005.

She is survived by three daughters, Betsy Jane (Harry) Robb of Lakeland, Florida, Judy M. (Rex) Richardson of Fairfield and Donna J. Kopp of Hamilton; one son, James D. (Cathy) Brown; a sister, Ellen Rose of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John McKenney; and a sister, Helen Eleton.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bob Siebels Pastor of First Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
