Betty L. Finley

Betty L. Finley, age 76 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 5:03 PM. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on April 9, 1936 the daughter of Ballard and Louella Irvin. Betty was a member of Princeton Pike Church of God, where she ran the Good News Bookstore for many years, and along with her husband, drove the church tour bus for the Golden Pikers and youth. She was employed as an optician for Elder Beerman for 12 years, and was also runner up for Miss West Virginia. On January 6, 1956 in Buchanan, West Virginia she married Carl Finley.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Finley of Hamilton; three children, Kathy (Keith) Nott of Hamilton, Luchanne (James) Keefover of West Virginia, and Rodney Irvin of West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Betty Jean Irvin of Louisville, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Bobby (Erica) Musgrove, Karla (Johnny) Vogt, James (Allison) Keefover, David (Jennifer)Keefover, Brian (Melissa) Keefover, Crystal Jones, Bobby Joe (Les) Alkire, BJ Irvin, and Rodney Jr. Irvin; fifteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Roger Irvin.

Funeral service will be held at the Princeton Pike Church of God, 6101 Princeton-Glendale Road, on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Sam Luke, Pastor Barry Clardy, and Pastor Jake Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
