Betty Garland, age 83 passed away Saturday, February 11, 2011, in Charleston, South Carolina. She was born in Jett, Kentucky January 26, 1929 the daughter of Napoleon and Rena Stivers.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Hugh Garland; children, Burl "Butch" (Kristy) Spiers Jr., Cheryl (John Jr.) McHenry and Kerry (Martha) Garland; siblings, Geneva McQueen, Dorsey Link, Mary Flinner, Bonnie Slusher, Donna Rathburn, Ronnie Stivers and Raymond, Stivers; grandchildren, John (Renee) McHenry III, Jamie (Chris) Earls, Andrea (Kevin) Hori, Christopher Spiers, Jenny Garland and Johnny Garland; great grandchildren, Zachary Earls, Meghan Earls, Olivia McHenry and Shelby McHenry. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cynthia Sue Spiers; and siblings, George Stivers, Junior Stivers, Laura King, Edna Gross and Juanita Stivers.

Visitation will be 10am until time of service (12noon), Friday, February 17, 2012, at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave, Hamilton, Ohio. Burial will follow in Greendale Cemetery in Greendale, Indiana.
