Betty Esther Heidorn

Betty Esther Heidorn, age 89 of Hamilton passed away at Doverwood Health Care on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 2:46 AM. She was born in Cincinnati on January 19, 1922 the daughter of Sherman and Sallie (Medlock) Callahan. Esther was employed as a cafeteria worker at Cincinnati Public Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Living Word Missionary Baptist Church. On July 6, 1940 in Cincinnati she married Elmer J. Heidorn, and he preceded her in death in 1993.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty L. Heidorn of Harrison; three sons, Elmer "Bud" (Joan) Heidorn of Gas City, Indiana, Clifford M. (Pamela) Heidorn of Hamilton, and Richard A. (Katie) Heidorn of Trenton; and five grandchildren, Joshua Heidorn, Julie (Jeremy) Sears, Jessica (Nick) Boyle, Erin Heidorn, and Haille Heidorn. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ross, Sherman, and Joe Callahan; and three sisters, Beatrice "Sis" Green, Mary McGill, and Sallie "Toots" Hafner.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mike Callihan of Living Word Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
