Billie L. Garten

Billie L. Garten, age 67 of Hamilton entered the Kingdom of Heaven from her home on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 7:30 AM. She was born in Hazard, Kentucky on June 15, 1941 the daughter of Memphis and Thelma Juanita (Lethgo) McGhee. Billie was employed in the dietary department of Mercy Hospital of Fairfield, retiring in 2001. On November 4, 1996 in Hamilton she married Kenneth Garten.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Garten of Hamilton; a son, Marc (Renee) Norris of Hamilton; two daughters, Barbara Lunsford of Hamilton and Betty Jo (Randy) Nistler of Mason; a brother, Harold McGhee of Hamilton; two sisters, Barbara Ann (James) Hoskins of Hamilton and Bobbie McGhee of California; six grandchildren, Melinda (Chris) Pottorf of Hamilton, Randy Nistler Jr. of Mason, Jeff Nistler of Mason, Larry Lunsford Jr. of Hamilton, Korinne Turner, and Morganne Turner, both of Hamilton; two great-grandchildren, Codi Sue Lunsford and Justin Pottorf, both of Hamilton; and her first husband, Leonard Norris. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bonnie Weber; a son-in-law, Larry Lunsford Sr.; and two brothers, James McGhee and Johnny Michael McGhee.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
