Billie Joe New

Billy Joe New, age 83 of Hamilton, passed away at Golden Years Nursing Center on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 5:25AM. He was born in Cawood, KY on June 30, 1931 to Grover and Della (Pace) New. Billy was employed at the Hamilton City Courts as a Bailiff for 6 years; and also worked at Mosler Safe Company as a polisher and buffer for many years. He was an avid UK Basketball fan, and attended many final fours. On October 20, 1947 in Cawood, KY, he married Vivian Napier, who preceded him in death on May, 14, 2012.

He is survived by his four children, Peggy (Roger) Lewis, Della (Paul) Hays, Mary (Mike) Davis, and Sandra (James) Noble; eight grandchildren, Dawn, Kim, Josh, Emily, Matthew, Mitchell, Rachael, and James; six great-grandchildren, Kiera, Tess, Abby Jo, Paige, Kristen, and Gabryella; one brother Kenneth (Wanda) New; and special friends, Catherine New, Tom (Vicky) Kirk, and Chuck Boehm. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Billie Evelyn Wyatt; one grandson Billy Sean Neace; one brother Cecil New, and one sister Dorothy Cunagin.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday December 26, 2014 at 12noon with Pastor Danny Helton officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday December 26, 2014 from 11AM-12noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to TriDia Hospice.
