Billie Jean West, age 73 of Hamilton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on December 2, 1939 to Virgil and Rachel (Sawyer) Garrett. In Jellico, Tennessee in 1955 she married Stan West, who preceded her in death in 2010.
She is survived by a son, Ray (Billie) West of Hamilton; two daughters, Norma (Rev. Tim) Mullins of Hamilton and Brenda (Rev. Paul) Thomas of Milford; 7 grandchildren, Lee Mullins, David Thomas, Jerrod West, Luke Mullins, Teri Maines, Raymond West and Stevie West; 4 great-grandchildren, Rebecca West, Abby Thomas, David Thomas Jr., and Ally Thomas; brothers, Donald, Hughie, Millard, and Henry Garrett; and sisters, Donna Jean Powers and Peggy Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Charles Garrett.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ernie Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
