Billie Joe Woodward

Billie Joe Woodward, age 83 of Hamilton, passed away at his residence on Friday, October 11, 2013. He was born in Oneida, Tennessee on August 11, 1930 the son of Alex and Ethel (Hicks) Woodward. Billie was a 1950 graduate of Huntsville High School in Huntsville, Tennessee. He was employed at Stephens Graphics for forty years, retiring in 1990 and was a member of Twinbrook Hills Baptist Church. On July 25, 1959 in Hamilton he married Frieda Joyce Stone.

He is survived by his wife, Frieda J. Woodward of Hamilton; two children, Brenda Cheryl Woodward of Cincinnati and Gary Shawn (Paula) Woodward of Petersburg, Kentucky; two stepchildren, Donna (Larry) Gabbard of Wisconsin and Linda (James) Wheeler of Hamilton; his sister, Janice Harness of Huntsville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Krista Marie (Jeremy) Joseph, Sean Ryan Woodward, and Alex Gage Woodward; numerous stepgrandchildren; and a stepson-in-law, Steve Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents; two stepchildren, David Stanifer and Connie Sullivan; and three siblings, Bobbie Woodward, Keith Woodward, and Edith Woodward.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 12:30 PM with Pastor Kenneth Ogle of Twinbrook Hills Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Cemtery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11:30 noon to 12:30 PM.
