Birchel L. "Bert" Moreland Sr.

Birchel L. "Bert" Moreland Sr., age 78 of Hamilton, passed away at home on Sunday, December 21, 2014. He was born in Hamilton on November 14, 1936 to William and Frances (Stewart) Moreland. Bert was employed at Kroger Dairy and Beckett Paper for many years. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1959. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being outdoors. Bert also coached softball and baseball for his children, and an avid New England Patriots fan.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Yvonne Moreland; five children, Ronald Grace, Mary Grace (Jeff) Byron, David Moreland, Susan (Jim) Wolf, Birchel Moreland Jr.; 13 grandchildren, Michael, Brian, Andrea, Stacy, Melissa, Rachel, Justin, Jason, Jeff, Amy, Miranda, Danny, Jesse; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Chuck Moreland. He was preceded in death by his parents and his six siblings, Lilly, William, Norma, Teresa, Wanda and Paul.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, December 26, 2014 at 10AM. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 9AM-10AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to The American Heart Association. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Toni and Doug of Crossroads Hospice and the Mercy Heart Institute, especially Dr. Wagoner, Deana, and Rita.
