Burl L. Spiers

Burl L. Spiers, age 91 of Hamilton, passed away at home on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Burl was born in Berea, Kentucky on December 25, 1927 to James Rufus Spiers and Ollie Anne Guthrie Spiers. Burl was married to his lifelong love Shirley on March 28, 1960. He retired from Lindenwald United Methodist church and is a proud veteran of the U.S Army. Burl had many interests including a love of music. The most important thing in his life was the love he held for his longtime wife and all of his children.

Burl is survived by his wife, Shirley Mae Kellis Spiers; children, Gwen Spiers, Ollie (Don) Heichelbach, Burl "Steve" Spiers, Barbara (Phil) Rodgers, Dwayne (Sarah) Spiers, Misty Marquez Burlyn Santiago, Karlene Spiers and Cheryl (John) Mchenry; 40 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; siblings, Burt Spiers and Barbara Spiers. Burl was preceded in death by his parents and son, Butch Spiers; siblings, Marie Ash, Richard Spiers, Harry Spiers, Roy Spiers, Frank Spiers and Shirley Cooper.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, OH. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Clark Baker of Abundant Life Apostolic. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to his wife Shirley Spiers.
