Burnam Lakes

Burnam Lakes, age 98 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 7:15 AM. He was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on October 4, 1911 the son of John and Ida (Johnson) Lakes. Burnam was employed as a machinist at Mosler Safe Company for 33 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Fellowship Christian Center. On March 7, 1936 in Livingston, Kentucky he married June Clark.

He is survived by his wife, June Lakes of Hamilton; a son, Ken (Judie) Lakes of Fairfield; three daughters, Dolores (Bea) Campbell of Middletown, Elaine (Rev. Bob) Croucher of Jones, Oklahoma, and Sherry Lakes of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Gary Campbell, Jeff Campbell, Tracy Campbell, Kim (Chad) Barrett, Teddy McCreadie, Brandon McCreadie, and Lynette (Tyler) McKee; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Spencer, Sarah, and Tracy Jr; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elza and Clyde Lakes; and a sister, Dula Lakes.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Paul Marcum, Rev. Bob Croucher, and Rev. Clarence Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Hamilton. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to his caregivers, Lori, Sue, Sam, Corena, and Faye for their loving care and concern.
