C. Edward "Dad-O" Smith

C. Edward "Dad-O" Smith, age 80 of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9, 2014. He was born on January 1, 1934 to Arthur and Iona (Johnson) Smith. He retired from Chrysler, Dayton after 30 years on July 31st, 1995. He then went to work as a doorman for Governors Manor for thirteen years, retiring in September of 2009. Eddie was a member of the Nazarene Church all his life, being involved in the music department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and baseball with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan Smith, whom he married on June 7th 1958. Two children were born to this union; Teresa Ellen Smith of Springfield, OH, and Cheryl Lee (Nino) Trotti of Clearwater, FL.; three grandchildren, Anthony (Ari) Trotti, Casey (Leroy) Pitro, and Domenic Trotti all of Clearwater, FL; two great grandchildren, Isabella Jane Trotti and Owen Michael Petro, both of Clearwater, FL; one special grandson and family, Dustin (Erika) and Rowan Geisel; and one sister, Ruth Prater of Trenton, OH. Numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bob, Joe, and Art Jr. Eddie loved his family and he will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 1PM. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 11am-1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Research. The family extends a special thank you to the Care Centers and Hospice of Pinella Co. FL.
