Candace Ann Wittman, age 69 of Hamilton, Ohio died on June 5, 2014 after a brief but devastating illness. She was born October 26, 1944, the oldest child of Stewart and Martha Jones, who preceded her in death. A 1962 graduate of Hamilton Taft High School, she attended MacMurray College, Jacksonville, IL, and Miami University, and was a graduate of the Moser School of Secretarial Studies in Chicago. She worked as a legal secretary for law firms in Chicago, Cincinnati, Jacksonville, FL, St. Louis, MO, and Washington, DC. On November 5, 1966 she married Dennis L. Wittman, and they enjoyed a long and happy marriage. She is survived by a son, Will Stewart (Kelly) Wittman; daughter-in-law Brenda Wittman; grandchildren J.T., Avery, Paige, and Emilie; brothers Dennis (Theresa) Jones and James (Tina) Jones; and sister, Elizabeth Wuichet Jones. A son, Joshua Dennis Wittman, died in 2005. Candace belonged to the Presbyterian Church of Hamilton, The Woman’s Club, and PEO, Chapter BR. She enjoyed needlepoint, decorating her homes, and entertaining family. Summers spent at her home in Crystal Lake, Michigan were her happiest times. Cremation will be followed by a graveside service for family at Rose Hill Burial Park. A Sunshine Celebration will be held at the Presbyterian Church, South Front St., Hamilton, on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, hug your children, kiss your spouse, sing songs of the great gift of life.
