Carey E. Mcvey

Carey E. McVey, age 43 of Oxford, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Carey was born in Middletown, Ohio on April 11, 1974; parents, Robin T. Rodgers Torbeck and Joe Griffin. She married Shane McVey June 5, 1993 in Oxford, Ohio. Carey dedicated her life focusing her time to her daughters, Morgan and Regan, with all their various activities. Her biggest joys was the time spent watching the girls dance and cheer for Talawanda High School. Through dance Carey was able to watch her daughters grow and express themselves which always put the biggest smile on her face. She loved being an active parishioner at Queen of Peace Church.

Carey is survived by her husband, Shane McVey; daughters, Morgan and Regan McVey; siblings, Jody (Joe) Howard, Leslie (Tug) Hundley and Caleb Whisman; parents, Robin Torbeck, Joe Griffin and Scott (Cathy) Emiley; stepmother, Kyle Morrison-Griffin; Mother-in-Law, Paula Rose; Father-in-Law, Richard (Melissa) McVey; brother-in-law, Daniel (Nancy) Peters; grandmothers, Barb Griffin and Vivian Williams; stepbrother, John (Misty) Nicely; stepsister, Kari Nicely; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Carey was preceded in death by grandfathers, Mark Griffin and Gene Rodgers; grandmothers, Gwendolyn Senseman and Ruthanne Rodgers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 12:00 PM with Fr. James Wedig officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Hamilton. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Hospice of Hamilton.
