Carl Hartkemeyer, age 62 of Springfield Township passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 13, 2007. He was born in Cincinnati on March 16, 1945 the son of Edward F. and Reba (Hamm) Hartkemeyer. Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era from 1965 to 1967 and was an electrician for IBEW Local #212 for 37 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Carla Hartkemeyer of Dayton; his mother, Reba Hartkemeyer of Cincinnati; three brothers, Edward W. (Diane) Hartkemeyer, David (Elaine) Hartkemeyer, and Charles (Kris) Hartkemeyer, all of Hamilton; two sisters, Susanne (Michael) Marsh of Maineville and Nancy (Stan) Yarrish of West Chester; a sister-in-law, Cindy Wallin of Hamilton; and numerous nieces, nephews, a great-niece and great-nephews, and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Robert Hartkemeyer.
Funeral service will be held at the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 1927 West Kemper Road, on Friday, May 18, 2007 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Larry Kreps, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Nature Conservancy, 4245 N. Fairfax Dr., Arlington, VA 22203.
