Carl Nutley, age 92, of Hamilton passed away at Woodlands of Hamilton on November 28, 2013. He was born in Woodlawn, Ohio, on September 23, 1921, the son of Ernest James and Mary Ada (Sefton) Nutley. Carl was employed as a truck driver for Fernald for 32 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Amvets #1983, Eagles #407, and VFW Post #1069, and attended the McGonigle Methodist Church. In 1950 in Woodlawn, he married Evelyn Rose Fluharty, who preceded him in death; in 1992 in Hamilton, he married Irene Roberts who preceded him in death in 2013.
He is survived by his stepson, Frederick R. (Linda) Pierson of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Michael (Aurora), Kevin, Christopher, Katie, Jamie, Jordan Pierson, and Jennifer (Jason) Fazholtz; four great-grandchildren—Avery, Noah, Ellie, and Greyson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his six brothers—James, Paul, George, Charles, Bruce, and Merle Nutley; and four sisters, Ruth Ulm, Martha "Pete" Wade, Ella Mae Davis, and Mary Day.
Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue on Wednesday, December 4, at 10 am with funeral services at 11 am. Pastor Edwin Beck of McGonigle Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Mt. Healthy, Ohio.
