Carl Peters beloved son of the late Edward and Lucy (Tussey) Peters passed peacefully Thursday, July 23, 2026. Carl was born June 19, 1955, in Hamilton, Ohio, was a 1973 graduate of Lakota High School.

A decorated veteran, Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army. His dedication, courage, and commitment to service were a source of great pride throughout his life.

A man of great curiosity, Carl possessed a remarkable range of talents and interests. He was an avid reader, with a particular love of history, and found joy in music, fishing, and, above all, time spent with family.

Carl had a larger-than-life personality and a gift for making everyone feel welcome. He never met a stranger, and his warmth, humor, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Some of Carl’s happiest hours were spent on the family farm, where he pursued his passion for artifact collecting. Over the years, his keen eye and appreciation for history led him to amass a remarkable collection of Native American stone tools, several of which were ultimately placed in museums.

Carl leaves behind a loving family, including his brothers, Verlyn (Billie) Peters and Jack (Dina) Peters; and his sisters, Betty (Ron) Acres and Saundra (Roy) Acres.

He was also a cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews: Joyce (Robert) Kreger, Jan Taylor, Ronda Acres, David (Joanne) Peters, Mark (Sherry) Peters, Karen (Curtis) Jackson, Leif (Anna) Peters, Susan (James) Acres-McCollum, Jonathan (Samantha) Peters, Nicole Peters, Erica Peters, Daniel Peters, and Ryan Peters. He is also survived by 13 great-nieces and great-nephews, who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Peters and Daniel F. Peters; sisters-in-law, Donna Peters and Billie Peters; beloved nephew, Edward Peters III; and lifelong friend, Joseph Pribble.

A special thank you is extended to Mara Morales and Melissa Day of Huntington Court, whose dedicated care and gentle support brought great comfort to Carl and our family.
