Carolyn Sue Chasteen, age 65 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 9:25 AM. She was born in Hamilton on March 29, 1944 the daughter of Ben and Anna (Evans) Young. Carolyn was employed as an education assistant for the Fairfield City School District and was a member of Princeton Pike Church of God. On October 10, 1969 in Hamilton she married Bobby Chasteen.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Chasteen of Hamilton; three brothers, Delbert (Joann) Young, Ben (Sally) Young, both of Hamilton, and Russell (Jean) Young of Fairfield; two sisters, Dorothy Bryant of Ozark, Missouri and Arlene (Douglas) Brickey of Sparks, Nevada; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; a devoted nephew, Rocky Chasteen; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Young; and a sister, Hazel Phillips.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Carolyn’s nephews Rev. Terry Bryant and Rev. Scott Young officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Carolyn was loved by everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the 4th floor staff of Ft. Hamilton Hospital for their care and concern.
