Carolyn S. "Kookie" Hamblin, age 66 of Somerville, passed away at her home on Friday, November 28, 2014. She was born in Cincinnati on December 18, 1947 to Fred and Mary (Hunt) Holden. On December 30, 1967 in Cincinnati she married Melvin Keith Hamblin.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Keith Hamblin; children, Michelle (Steve) Poff; Jeana (Fred) Diesbach; Diana "Dee" Thorpe; and Melvin (Brandi) Hamblin Jr.; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother, Danny Holden; sisters, Imogene (Hence) Hamblin, and Mary Lou Short; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Holden; and her parents.
Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Brother Nathan Hamblin of West Middletown Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
