Catherine Hughes

Catherine Hughes, age 84 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 07:25PM. She was born in Buneavista, IN on April 17, 1930 to Gillis and Emma (Banks) VanWinkle. Catherine worked at Wright Burnet and Shuler & Benning Hofen.

She is survived by her children, David (Donna) Hughes Jr., Oxford, OH and Frank (Pam) Hughes, Hamilton, OH; her grandchildren, Kathy (Mike) Bailey, Tonya (Jason) McPherson, Joseph (Ashley) Hughes, Franklin (Melissa) Hughes, April Hughes, and Brad Applegate; her great grandchildren, Bryce, Skylar, Jayla, Wyatt, Aiden, Mason, Jackson, Kendra, and Elijah; sisters-in-law, Alice Delph, Georgie Hughes, Vickie VanWinkle, and Helen VanWinkle; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, David Hughes; her grandson, Donald Hughes; her siblings, Elmer VanWinkle, Raymond VanWinkle, Earl VanWinkle, Gene VanWinkle, Frances Flannery, Marie Summerfield, and Janet Wagers; and her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 1 PM with Pastor Paul Tillett officiating.
