Cecil A. Sizemore

Cecil A. Sizemore, age 100 of Hamilton, passed away at home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 25, 2024. Cecil was born in Creekville, Kentucky on May 17, 1924 to the late Blevins and Carta (Howard) Sizemore. Cecil answered his country’s call to service and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he proudly served in the South Pacific. After his time in the service, Cecil settled down in Hamilton, Ohio and together with his wife, Della, raised a family. He worked at SOS for many years, retiring in the 1986. After retirement, he enjoyed music and playing guitar. Above all, Cecil loved spending time with his family.

Cecil will be dearly missed by his children, Cecil (Sandy) Sizemore, Jr., James (Cathy) Sizemore, Sandi Sizemore, Shirley Sizemore, and Wendy (Ross) Eckler; his 9 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchild; his sister, Eva Jean Boyd; his special friend, Chico; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Cecil is preceded in death by his wife, Della (Scalf) Sizemore; his son, Eddie Sizemore; his two grandsons, L.J. and Justin North; his three sisters, Sally Ledford, June Wells, and Joan Wells; and his two brothers, Atwood Sizemore and John Henry Sizemore.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Service at 12:00 NOON at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery.
