Charles R. Caudill III

Charles R. Caudill III, age 77 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Known to most as Charlie, he was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 9, 1948 to the late Mary Louise (Hazlett) and Charles R. Caudill Jr. Charlie worked for Champion Paper for over 40 years. Charlie was also a proud volunteer firefighter & EMT, serving the communities of Millville and as a lieutenant at Liberty Township. In his retirement, Charlie also worked for Fairfield City Schools as a custodian. Charlie enjoyed fishing, camping, sprint car and dirt racing, but above all, Charlie loved spending time with his family.

Charlie will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Margarette Caudill; his children, Charles (Cindy) Caudill, Richard (Kristy) Caudill, Crystal (Nick S.) Caudill; his grandchildren, Ashley Caudill, Trevor Howard, Emilee Howard, Josh (Amber) Lay, Kyle Lay, Megan Caudill, Tyler Caudill; his great-grandchildren, Mariah Howard, Wynter Lay, Kady Lay, Teegan Lay, Tate Lay, Tucker Lay, Tolcen Lay, Remi Lay-Taylor; his sister, Cindy Coffey; as well as many extended family members, friends, and his canine companions, Daisy and Phoebe.

Charlie is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Dick & Mary Caudill; his granddaughter, Tosha Lay; parents-in-law, Christine & James P. Watts; and his brother-in-law, Lee Allen Caudill.

The family will hold a Celebration of Charlie’s Life on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Calvary Church Community Center Building, 2355 Jacksonburg Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011.
