Charles H. Hubbard, age 85 of Fairfield Township passed away at his residence on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 7:25 AM. He was born in Dayton on August 20, 1924 the son of McKinley and Mary (Tankersley) Hubbard. Charles was a veteran of World War II with the United States Army from 1943-1945, where he received the Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theatre Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, and the World War II Victory Medal. He was member of Carpenters Local Union 113 for 50 years, and retired in 1986 as their Business Representative. On April 25, 1953 in Hamilton he married Lois A. Hopkins. Charles was a member of the Benjamin Franklin Lodge No. 719 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, and the Shriners.
He is survived by his wife, Lois A. Hubbard; daughter, Rhonda (Steve) Price, both of Fairfield Township; two sisters, Judy Philpot and Pam Creech, both of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Nate Doty, Erica Navey, Brenna Dubray, Leah Dubray; and two great granddaughters, McKenna and Audra; devoted friends, Scott and Carol Morgan of Hamilton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Eddie, Herman and Leslie Hubbard.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 12 noon with Revs. Ricky and Terry Lawwill officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
