Charles R. Metcalf, age 79 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Monday, May 9, 2011. He was born in Madison County, Kentucky on April 21, 1933 the son of Hiram and Martha (Collins) Metcalf. Charles was employed as a supervisor at St. Mary and St. Stephen’s Cemetery for 35 years, retiring in 1999.
He is survived by two daughters, Connie (Steve) Jackson and Mary (Paul) Templin; a sister, Opal Isaacs; two granddaughters, Elaina and Alyssa Jackson; four nephews, Wayne (Wanda) , Darrell, David, and Floyd (Denita) Isaacs; and great-nieces and great-nephew, Marsha (Larry) Dunahoo, Joy (Donnie) Best, Greg (Melissa) Isaacs, Heather Isaacs, and Matthew Isaacs. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Charles Metcalf; a brother, Hiram James Metcalf; and a sister, Gladys McGuire.
Funeral service will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 2:30 PM with Scott Swelbar of Community Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the chapel on Thursday from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
