Charles L. "Chuck" Satterthwaite

Charles L. "Chuck" Satterthwaite, age 66 of Hamilton passed away at University Hospital Cincinnati on Wednesday, July 6, 2011. He was born in Lebanon, Ohio on October 12, 1944 the son of Charles Edwin and Miriam Rachel (Pence) Satterthwaite. Chuck was a 1962 graduate of Lebanon High School and was a ten-year veteran of the National Guard. He retired from Hamilton Tool/Steven Graphics and had been more recently employed at Hamilton City Schools and Cincinnati Auto Auction. Chuck was a lifetime member of AMVETS Post #1983 and a member of Monkey Mutual Aid Society #1. He was an avid golfer and sports fan, especially of the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, Dayton Flyers, and Xavier. On October 16, 1998 in Hamilton he married Geraldine A. Mize.

A devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by his wife, Geraldine Satterthwaite of Hamilton; a daughter, Anne R. Fried of Lakeland, Florida; a son, Steven R. (Lisa) Satterthwaite of Liberty Township; two grandchildren, Hannah N. and Nicholas R. Satterthwaite; a sister, Jane (Bill) Young of Lebanon, Ohio; sisters-in-law Sharon (Terry) Roark and Beverly (Roy) Feltner, both of Hamilton; a brother-in-law, Paul Mize of Tampa, Florida; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Gerald and Janet (Lyons) Mize.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to their friends and family for their support, including prayers, visits, and cards.
