Charles Edward Stamper, age 69 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 4:48 AM. He was born in Jackson, Kentucky on March 20, 1940 the son of Enoch and Mae (Bryant) Stamper. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard from 1976 to 1991 and was employed at Harrison Radiator. On July 15, 1967 he married Joyce Cook, and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons, Jamie (Rhonda) Cook, Randall Stamper, and Peter (Robin) Stamper, all of Hamilton; a daughter, Laura Stamper (Dallas) Burns of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Justin Stamper, Jay Cook, Charles Burns, Dylan Tompkins, Brandon Burns, Michael Stamper, Blake Stamper, and Alissa Stamper; three brothers, Tom (Roberta) Stamper of Hamilton, Troy (Vicki) Stamper of Fairfield, and Paul Stamper of Hamilton; a sister, Pauline (Charles) Mills of Flowery Branch, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Faye Stamper and Shirley Stamper, both of Jackson, Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, LaRue Stamper and Ollie Stamper; four sisters, Bobby Jean (Speed) Singleton, Phyllis Acton, Geneva (Blue) Anderson, and Grace Short; and a sister-in-law, Sam Stamper.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Aaron Rice, Associate Pastor of Nilles Pointe Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
