Charles R. Stevens, age 57 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 7:01 PM. He was born in Hamilton on July 8, 1950 the son of Clifford and Bessie (Wagers) Stevens. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972, where he served three tours in Vietnam. He was employed at Ford Motor Company for 35 years, retiring in 2008. On December 23, 1977 in Hamilton he married Pamela Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Stevens of Hamilton; two children, Anthony Scott Stevens of Cincinnati and Andrea Lynn Stevens of Hamilton; Johnny Lee (Mandy) Strunk of Hebron, Kentucky, who was like a son to Charles; three brothers, Homer (Brenda) Stevens of Fairfield, David (Pamela) Stevens, and Kris Stevens, both of Hamilton; two sisters, Linda (Walter) Donald of Fairfield Township and Penny (Tim) Widener of Lansing, Michigan; a half-sister, Margie Weber of Fairfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clifford Stevens Jr.; and a sister, Carna Odessa Stevens.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Brenda Stevens of God’s House of Sure Deliverance officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The family extends a special thank you to Hospice of Cincinnati for all their care and support.
