Charles Sullivan, age 85 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2015. He was born in Hamilton on May 15, 1930 to Steve and Della (Hopkins) Sullivan. Charles proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. On July 13, 1951 he married Theresa Martin. He was a former associate pastor at Cherry Valley United Baptist, former pastor of Gordon Avenue United Baptist Church, and his sermons at Cherry Valley were broadcasted weekly on WMOH. Charles was a member of Greenhills United Baptist Church. He retired from Sullivan’s Flooring, where he worked for over 45 years. Charles was 32nd Degree mason, and was a member of the Ben Franklin Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his children; Charles (Peggy) Sullivan, Jeff (Maria) Sullivan, David (Kelly) Sullivan, and Vicky (Kevin) Mapel; eight grandchildren, Tonya (Johnny), Charles, Whitney, Heather, Kylie, Jeffrey, Tyler, and Brady; great grandchildren, Miranda, Jada, Ariyana, Mia, and Madelyn; brothers, Steve Sullivan Jr., and Michael (April) Sullivan; sisters, Roxy (Jake) Flannery, Faye Chesnut, Henrietta Taylor, and Carol(Arthur) McFarland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Sullivan; and his parents
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Tim Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association.
