Charles William Thieken

Charles William Thieken, age 92 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Charles was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on May 4, 1925 to Louis Thieken and Lucy (Born) Thieken. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving in WWII from 1943-1946. Charles was a Tool and Die Foreman for Fisher Body for 34 years, retiring in 1986. He was also a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church. Charles was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. On August 26, 1950 in Wheelersburg, OH, he married Sylvia Mault and she preceded him in death in May 22, 2016.

Charles is survived by his children, Pam (Rick) Kuhl, Ken Thieken, Rick (Deidra) Thieken, Don (Linda) Thieken, Judy (Don) Baker; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ray (Nita) Thieken and Mark Thieken. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Thieken and Lucy Thieken; his spouse, Sylvia Thieken; one daughter Rita Thieken; two sisters, Ruth Reipenhoff and Rosemary Montavan; and two brothers in law, John Reipenhoff and Bob Montavan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton St., on Friday June 16, 2017 at 10:00AM with Father Rob Muhlenkamp celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 15, 2017 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, OH.
