Charles D. Woolery

Charles D. Woolery, age 80 of Reily Township passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 10:30 AM. He was born in Hamilton on September 6, 1927 the son of Thomas and Nannie (Mullins) Woolery, and was raised in Climax, Kentucky (Rockcastle County). Charles was employed at Fisher Body for 31 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Local 233 UAW and attended the Oxford Pentecostal Church. On June 29, 1946 in Covington, Kentucky he married Evelyn Frances Peters, and she preceded him in death in 2006.

He is survived by two children, Garrie D. (Tina, formerly of Salt Lake City, Utah) Woolery of Connersville, Indiana, formerly of Reily and Linda (James, formerly of California) Sellers of Oxford; two brothers, Robert (Nannie) Woolery of Lebanon, Indiana and Nathan Woolery; a sister, Dolly (Russell) Smallwood of Pensacola, Florida; three grandchildren, Scott Woolery of Fairfield, Michelle (Phillip) Embs of Hamilton, and Chad C. Woolery of Scottsdale, Arizona; three great-grandchildren, Ashley and Travis Embs, and Sean Woolery; a great-great-granddaughter, Marley Elizabeth Woolery; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alberta See and Fannie Oglesby; and a brother-in-law to whom Charles was very close, John Luther See.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Deacon Wayne Day of First Baptist Church of Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Reily Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
