Cherie was born on May 28, 1956 in her native Middletown, Ohio. She died peacefully in the hospital on October 9, 2023 where she had been receiving care for the previous two weeks. For the past several years she resided in Canon City, Colorado with her husband who survives her, Martin Soule. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Gilbert Egelston and Collette Nicole (Marachel) Egelston and her grandparents, Charles and Robena “Beanie” Egelston.
In addition to her husband of 28 years, she is survived by her son, Charles Joseph “CJ” Hornsby and his wife, Karilynn. Her grandchildren, Tyler (Kenzie) Hornsby and Kailynn Hornsby; sisters Deborah Taylor (Gary), Betsy Koval (Marty) and Kathi Johnson (Dwight) and her brother, William Egelston (Ann).
Cherie graduated from Middletown High School in 1974 and worked for Ohio Casualty Insurance Company in Hamilton and in Denver, Colorado retiring in 2016. She was a devoted Wife, Mom, Mamaw and Sister and loved her family and animals. She also loved the outdoors and beauty of her beloved Colorado. Her wonderful laugh, beautiful smile and dimples will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023from 1:00PM to 2:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45011. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Kimberly Armentrout officiating. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
