Chester "Raymond" Center

Chester "Raymond" Center, age 67 of Hamilton passed away at Huntington Court on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 12:55 AM. He was born in Hamilton on November 11, 1940 the son of Dorsie and Nella (Phelps) Center. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962 and was employed by the City of Hamilton School District, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Orioles Nest #193 in Middletown.

He is survived by a brother, Ernest L. (Madonna) Center of Brandon, Florida; a sister, Imogene (Lonnie) Johnson of Hamilton; his devoted stepmother, Dorothy Center and her family; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert Darrell Center, Dorsie Center Jr., and Vernon Eugene Center; and two sisters, Helen Rose Frye and Mabel Irene Hopkins.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Rick Witt of Faith Pentecostal Church of Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Ray’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of both Huntington Court and Vitas Hospice for their loving care and support.
