Chester R. Johnson

Chester R. Johnson, age 62 of Fairfield, passed away at his residence on Monday, October 30, 2017. He was born in Hamilton on February 26, 1955 the son of Hugh and Maude (Hurd) Johnson. Chester was employed in the maintenance department for Champion International Paper for thirty years and then furthered his education and received his HVAC certification, retiring in 2008. He attended the Princeton Pike Church of God. On May 1, 1987 in Hamilton he married Linda Magie. Chester was a hero to many; his love for his wife and family gave him the strength to fight a battle most could not have endured.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Johnson of Fairfield; two children, Mary Ellen (Doug) Burdsall and Chester "Chet" (Crystal Hendrix) Johnson, both of Hamilton; one brother, Jeff (Beverly) Johnson of Hamilton; one step sister, Lori Johnson of Hamilton; his step-mother Fran Crowe of Port Richey, Florida; seven grandchildren, Kody, Gavin, McKenna, Samantha, Cora, Stella, and Caiah; his mother-in-law, Carole Magie of Maineville; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving father-in-law, John Magie.

Funeral service will be held at Princeton Pike Church of God, 6101 Princeton Glendale Road, onSaturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Barry Clardy officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the church.
