Chester A. "Chick" Little

Chester A. "Chick" Little, age 84 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 2:54 AM. He was born in Cannel City, Kentucky on July 24, 1924 the son of Daily D. and Grace (Spicer) Little. Chick was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946, service in the Pacific as a Navy Corpsman. He was the owner/operator of King Sales & Service/International Harvester for over 37 years; he later was a driver for the Senior Citizens ARK Program for 20 years, retiring in 2006. Chick was president of Champion Fishing Club for over 20 years, past president of the Butler County Automobile Dealers Association, and a member of various service and civic organizations in which he served as an officer in some capacity. He was also an avid fisherman and bowler. On December 2, 1944 in Covington, Kentucky he married Ida M. King.

He is survived by his wife, Ida M. Little of Hamilton; two children, David S. (Angela) Little and Susan J. (Ernie) Pence, both of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Daniel D. Little, Chad A. Little, Tamie S. (Jonathan) Peel, Matthew E. Pence, and Hailey P. Jones; five great-grandchildren, Micah. Aaron, Abigail, and Judah Little, and Justin Peel; and a brother, William G. Ruhl of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his father, Daily D. Little; his mother, Grace Little-Ruhl; and stepfather, Clarence Ruhl.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Chick’s son David S. Little officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a hospice of the donor’s choice.
