Christine "Chris" Abney

Christine "Chris" Abney, age 76 of Trenton passed away at Atrium Medical Center on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 7:34 AM. She was born in Eubank, Kentucky on August 13, 1931 the daughter of George and Cleo (Renner) Nelson. Chris was employed as a dietary supervisor at Garden Manor for over twenty-seven years. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and dogs.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathie (Tom) Mead of Mt. Gilead, Ohio and Becky Lamassa of Trenton; four grandchildren, Jack and Amy Brinzendine and Luka and Chelsea Lamassa; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Brinzendine; a sister, Loraine (Roger) Hicks of Cincinnati; cousins Zelma, Jewel, and Barb; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Pete Nelson; and many friends.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Bob Daniels and Odis Caudle officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Chris’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to Sam, Barry, Giddon, her special nurses/friends, and the rest of her family at Garden Manor for their care and concern. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Glickfield and Dr. Albers and staffs.
