Christine Chasteen

Christine Chasteen, age 84 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton at Sunrise on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 3:20 PM. She was born in Estill County, Kentucky on June 15, 1923 the daughter of Andy and Annie (Skinner) Abner. In 1943 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky she married Robert Chasteen who preceded her in death in 1997.

She is survived by three sons, Bobby (Carolyn) Chasteen, Kenneth (Alta) Chasteen, and Darrell (Carol) Chasteen; two daughters, Beverly (Jeff) Johnson and Joy (Doug) Gentry, all of Hamilton; one brother, Charles (Bernice) Abner of Greenville; one sister, Irene Barron of Mount Vernon, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; Melissa, Rocky (Livvi), Ryan, Heather, Brad (Brittney), Jason (Jennifer), Stephanie, Shelly, Dawn, Josh, Adam and Ben (Amber); 22 great-grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law, Roberta Chasteen of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ralph and Michael Chasteen; sister, Louise Applegate; and grandson, Josh Smith.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Richard Salyer, Pastor Damon Dixon, and Pastor Jimmy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mercy Hospital and Hospice of Cincinnati for all their care and support.
