Clara M. Davis

Clara M. Davis, age 84 of Hamilton passed away at Golden Years Health Care on Friday, December 25, 2009 at 3:45 AM. She was born in Hamilton on May 29, 1925 the daughter of Frank and Beatrice (Lee) Davis. Clara was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Clara loved her Lord and her family. After raising seven children, she continued enjoying kids by babysitting six of them, to whom she was known as "Nana," every day for over ten years. Clara was an avid Reds fan and loved listening to Marty and Joe on the radio. On October 3, 1942 in Hamilton she married Paul "Shorty" Davis and he preceded her in death in 1975.

She is survived by four sons, Paul (Pam) Davis of Hamilton, Joe Davis of Fairfield, Bob Davis of Hamilton, and Mike (Gina) Davis of Hamilton; two daughters, Donna (Tom) Morscher of Hamilton and Pam (Doug) Wooten of Hamilton; a sister, Mary Lou Lasley of Orlando, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Davis of Indiana and Linda Roark of Hamilton; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Yvonne Disney; her grandson, Raymond Disney; two brothers, Albert "Bud" Davis and Frank "Sonny" Davis; a sister, Wilma Jean Gudgell; a sister-in-law, Viola Crone; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Davis.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 171 Washington Street, on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Stephen Mondiek, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family wishes to thank the staff at Golden Years Nursing Center, Dr. Thomas Sargero, and Destiny Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
