Claranette (Dovey Bittner) Calvert

Claranette (Dovey Bittner) Calvert, age 90 of Coral Springs, Florida, formerly of Fairfield passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 10:40 PM. She was born in Cincinnati on October 8, 1918 the daughter of Louis Sr. and Anna (Davis) Bittner. She was united in marriage to Berman R. (Doc) Calvert on April 25, 1953 in Hamilton, and he preceded her in death in 1993. Claranette was employed at Champion International for 35 years, retiring in 1981. She was a longtime member of the Hamilton Boat Club and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol (Louis "Skip") Weber; four sons, Michael (Elsie) Calvert, Douglas Calvert, Daryl (Dianne) Calvert, and Mark (Michele) Calvert; five grandchildren, Kimberly (David) Linder, David K. Masters, Sara (Chris) Buelter, Christy (Joey) Roberto and Lisa Calvert; two great-grandchildren, Joe and Carolyn Linder; nieces, Joan Metcalf and Shirley Mitchell; nephew, William (Barbara) Bittner; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Louis Jr. and Edwin Bittner; and a sister, Anna Belle Bittner.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 400 Nilles Road, on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Larry Tharp, Celebrant. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
