Clarence Judd

Clarence Judd, age 91 of Hamilton passed away at Kindred Transitional and Rehabilitation Facility in Carmel, Indiana on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:04 AM. He was born in Lebanon, Ohio on September 7, 1920 the son of Clyde and Nellie (Tirey) Judd. Clarence was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II with the 99th Infantry Division, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge, later transferring to The Big Red One. He was employed as a machine repairman at Ford Motor Company for 20 years, retiring in 1985. Clarence was a member of First Baptist Church, was a life member of VFW, and he was a master mason. He was also proud to be a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church and affiliated with Zion Lutheran Church. Clarence enjoyed gardening and his cattle. In December, 1947 in Hamilton he married Elvia McGuire, and she preceded him in death in 1986.

He is survived by a son, Gregory Judd of Palm Coast, Florida; five grandchildren, Christopher (Sue) Judd of Columbus, Ohio, Jennifer (Andrew) Yuker of Dayton, Jesse (Nikki) Judd of Batavia, Amanda (Randy) Riggan of Hamilton, and Kelly Judd of Hamilton; nine great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Karen Burke of Hudson, Ohio; best friend and companion, Wanda Cochran; and his three favorite nieces, Shirley Doyle, Barbara Johnson, and Rhonda Wagonfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Captain Leslie Judd, US Army; and a sister, Ruby Judd Davis.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Daniel Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to One Way Farm or to Shriners Hospital for Children in Cincinnati.
