Clarence Martin Meyers

Clarence Martin Meyers, age 82 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 12:10 AM. He was born in Hamilton on May 7, 1926 the son of John Martin and Clara (Roth) Meyers. Clarence was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He was employed in the box shop at Champion International for 49 years and was a member of Millville Avenue Church of God and Champion Camping Club. Clarence enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, playing cards, and traveling. On August 26, 1950 in New Miami, he married Wilma Hatton.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Meyers of Hamilton; two daughters, Nancy (Ty) Wical and Michaele (Leroy) Potter, both of Hamilton; a son, Edward Meyers of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Eric Meyers, Tammy Blackburn, David Meyers, and Keith; five great-grandchildren, Eric Clarence, Jessica, Joshua, Makinzie and David Meyers Jr.; two special sisters-in-law, Olga Meyers and Frances Elliott, both of Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Vidourek and Bertha Conlin; four brothers, Albert, Paul, Carl, and John Meyers; and a great-grandson, Kieran Ashcraft.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Stephen Collins of Millville Avenue Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to three dear and special physicians, Dr. Richard Zettler, Dr. Deborah Hauger, and Dr. Kenneth Wehr for years of loving care and support. Clarence’s family also extends a heartfelt thank you to two devoted nephews, Ronnie and Jimmy.
