Clayton Sebastian

Clayton Sebastian, age 89 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 27, 2008. He was born in Madison County, Kentucky on December 25, 1918 the son of Franklin and Fannie (Bentley) Sebastian. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in Sicily on August 2, 1943, as well as the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with one Silver Star, three Bronze Service Stars, and a Bronze Arrowhead. Clayton was employed as a carpenter with Shook Construction, retiring in 1981 and was a member of Carpenter’s Union Local #113. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed the outdoors. On June 21, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky he was married to Oda E. McGee, who preceded him in death in 1989.

He is survived by two sons, Frank (Beverly) Sebastian of Fairfield and Clayton (Glenda) Sebastian Jr. of Hamilton; four daughters, Julia Ann (Eli) Black of Monroe, Sandra Rivera, Peggy Doyle, and Marilyn Lorraine Jones, all of Hamilton; sixteen grandchildren, Kim Sebastian, Patty Sebastian, Jimmy (Megan) Sebastian, Karen (Ed) Giuliano, Sharon (Allen) Lakes, Kedrin Doyle, Archie Rivera, Andy Rivera, Linda Ruhlman, Reva Ann (Carlo) Diceglie, Frank H. Sebastian Jr., Starla Jones, Madison Jones, Joey Black, Lynita Haro, and Ryan Black; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Baker of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, James and Thomas Sebastian; a daughter, Frances Sebastian; a brother, Elmer Sebastian; and a sister, Catherine Henderson.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Johnson of Buena Vista Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
