Clyda Crank

The soul of Clyda Crank, age 95 met her appointed time with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 10:15 PM at the home of her son in Melbourne, Florida. She was born on August 5, 1913 in Estill County, Kentucky the daughter of John Allen and Nancy Ellen "Nannie" (Lamb) Flynn. She resided in Melbourne, Florida at the time of her demise and was a longtime resident of Hamilton, where she raised her family and attended the Pater Avenue Church of God thru its evolution from the Seventh and Chestnut to the Princeton Pike Church of God. Clyda devoted her life to family and church and was a member of the Church of God, headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee from the age of thirteen. She taught Sunday School, Bible School, and testified to all of her spiritual faith. On October 14, 1936 in Liberty, Indiana she was married to Norman Crank Sr., and he preceded her in death in 1980.

She leaves a legacy of love for her family and friends, survived by one son, Norman (Wilma "Pepper") (Proffit) Crank Jr. of Melbourne, Florida; one daughter, Eleanor Sue (Dennis) Baldwin of Fairfield; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie (Eldon) Ridener of Ft. Meyer, Florida; four grandchildren, Tim (Karen) Crank, Kim (Tom) Mallaley, Brandon Clay Baldwin, and Shelli (Tim) Carpenter; and also ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Dain Crank in 1964; one granddaughter, Brenda Denice Crank; and one grandson, Mark Baldwin; also by three brothers, Roliegh, Clay, and Charlie Flynn; and two sisters, Bessie Daniel and Oda Young.

Funeral services will be held at the Tylersville Road Church of God, 2753 Tylersville Road, on Friday, September 12, 2008 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Rick Witt and Rev. Delvin Reece officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
