Coleman Johnson Sr.

Coleman Johnson Sr., age 63 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 10:21 AM. He was born in Kinder, Louisiana on May 25, 1946 the son of Ales and Lillie (Savent) Johnson. Coleman was a veteran of the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam Era, and received the Purple Heart.

He is survived by a son, Coleman Johnson Jr. of Hamilton; a daughter, Tonia Johnson-Porter and her husband Dustin of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren, A.J. Samples and Stacey Samples; and a sister, Dianne "Shearn" (Raymond) Asher of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by he parents; four brothers, Lloyd, Earl, Rufus, and Jimmy Johnson; and three sisters, Allie Potts, Caroline Trelles, and Alma Tibedoux.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
