Cordia Johns

Cordia Johns, age 82 of Hamilton passed away in Westover Retirement Community on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 6:52AM. She was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on April 16, 1926 the daughter of Silas and Lizzie (Singleton) McDaniel. Cordia was employed as a splicer for Shuler-Benninghoffen for 23 years, retiring in 1967. On March 7, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky she was married to James F. Johns, and he preceded her in death in 1987.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn (Raymond) Combs of Hamilton and one granddaughter, Kristy Lynn Combs of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be private for the convenience of the family at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue with Fr. Larry Yanca, Chaplain of Vitas Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Millville Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family wishes to express their sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Westover Retirement Community for their loving care and concern.
