Curtis J. Colwell

Curtis J. Colwell, age 87 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 3:30 AM. He was born in Typo, Kentucky on May 9, 1923 the son of the late Willie and Pairlee (Hamblin) Colwell. Curtis was employed as a shipper at Beckett Paper Company, retiring in 1979. On October 30, 1946 in Jeffersonville, Indiana he married Mahala Morris.

He was the husband of Mahala Colwell of Hamilton; the father of Darrell Colwell of Hamilton and the late David Lee Colwell; father-in-law of Pam Colwell of Hamilton; brother of Harold (Marty) Colwell of Arkansas and the late Denver, Roger, Elvin, and Ezra Colwell; two sisters, Ruthene (Mickey) Ousley of Austin, Indiana, Dellatene (Frank) Holt of Seymore, Indiana and the late Edith Campbell; two grandchildren, Tonja Colwell and Barbara (Tinker) Hugh; and three great-grandchildren, Regan, Rylee, and Jaxon.

Funeral service will be held at the Faith Pentecostal Church, 719 Kenworth Avenue, on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Rick Witt officiating. Burial will follow in Butler Co. Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
