Cynthia R. Lawson, 67, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on August 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and upheld by the grace and peace of the Lord she loved so deeply.
Born on September 16, 1957, in Hamilton, Ohio, Cindy lived a life marked by unwavering faith, endless compassion, and boundless love. She was a devoted wife to Milton (Milt) Lawson for 49 years, a nurturing and selfless mother to Eric Lawson and Lyndsay (Lawson) Jackson, and a proud, adoring “Grandma/Mama” to Anna, Jordyn, Blake and Braxton. Cindy was a proud graduate of New Miami High School, class of 1975. After working over 30 years in the banking industry, she retired from Telhio Credit Union where she formed many close lasting relationships with her coworkers.
Throughout her life, Cindy was a light to all who knew her. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life, and she faced each day — even in the midst of illness — with courage, hope, and trust in the Lord’s promises. She was active member at Friendship Baptist Church, where she touched many lives with her prayers, kindness, and servant’s heart.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family — especially her four beloved “grands,” who brought her endless pride and laughter. Whether hosting family gatherings, cooking special meals for her entire family, cheering them on at events, or simply gathering around the table playing games, she poured love into every moment.
She found peace and happiness by the ocean, loved traveling to new places, and never outgrew her love for Disney. These moments were treasures she shared with her family, creating memories that will live on for generations.
Even as she walked through the valley of suffering, Cindy continued to encourage others with her strength and unshakable faith. Her legacy of love, resilience, and belief in God’s goodness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is now healed and whole in the presence of her Savior — a truth that brings comfort and peace to her family, who rejoice in knowing she is Home.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Milton Lawson; her children, Eric (Becky) Lawson, Lyndsay (Mark) Jackson; her grandchildren, Anna Lawson, Jordyn Jackson, Blake Jackson, Braxton Jackson; brothers, Todd (Shannon Vogel) Fields and Wes (Teresa) Fields. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Smith; mother, Kathryn Fields; step father, Omas Fields; and siblings, Kevin Smith, Jabe Smith and Kristin Fields.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson-Flick, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, with Pastor Mark Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
