Damon Dixon

January 22, 1944 — December 11, 2023

Pastor Damon Dixon, age 79, died at Hospice of Hamilton early Monday morning, December 11, 2023, with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Benham, Kentucky on January 22,1944, to Benjamin Franklin Dixon and Carrie (nee Bush) Dixon Shepherd. Damon graduated from Cumberland High School in 1964 and moved to Ohio after he and Lillie were married on September 5, 1964. Although he moved to Ohio, his heart never left Kentucky. He was a true Wildcats fan and later became a Kentucky Colonel. Damon retired from CSX Railroad in January of 2004 after 38 years of service. Damon re-dedicated his life to Christ in 1969, and later joined the West Side Pentecostal Church where he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and later as an Elder. He later felt called into ministry and earned his minister's license through the Church of God where he served in a number of Pastoral roles. He was later honored with a Bishop's License with the Church of God of Cleveland, Tennessee. Pastor Dixon loved doing the Lord's work and telling people about Jesus. He also ministered in area prison and jail ministries for 25 years. Damon was involved in many mission trips to places including India, Haiti, China, Russia, Egypt, Guatemala and Mexico. He also did a number ofmissions projects in the U.S. Damon desired in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to Destiny Village Children’s Home in Haiti through Princeton Pike Church of God.

Damon was survived by his wife of 59 years, Lillie (nee Raleigh) Dixon; his sons, Timothy (Diana) Dixon and Paul (Rebekah) Dixon; his grandchildren, Alex Dixon, Elly Dixon, Noelle Dixon, Gabriel Dixon and Calvin Flynn; his brother, Charles (Betty) Dixon; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Damon was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin Dixon and Carrie (Sibley) Shepherd; his sisters, Edna Lewis, Evelyn Griffie and Carolyn Short; and his brother, Jack Dixon.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Princeton Pike Church of God, 6101 Princeton Glendale Road, Liberty Twp, OH 45011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the church. Burial will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Butler County Memorial Park, 4570 Trenton Oxford Road, Hamilton, OH 45011.
