Dan Arthur Alfred, age 68 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving wife on Monday, February 28, 2022. Dan was born in Seattle, Washington on October 20, 1953 to Stanley and Doris Alfred. Dan was a Navy and Army veteran, who served his country proudly. Dan worked and co-owned Tom’s Barber Shop in Latonia, KY for over 20 years. He was a family man and dear papaw & grandpa, who courageously fought his cancer battle with dignity and perseverance.
Dan is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lois Alfred; his children, Lisa Martin, Stan (fiancé Crystal) Alfred, Jenn (fiancé Danny) Alfred, Patricia (fiancé Eric) Alfred, Lauren (Corey) Flynn and Victoria (Tanner) Rosenbalm; his 16 grandchildren; his brothers, Jim (Karen) Alfred, Terry (Jan Jolavarri) Alfred and Bradley (Cinda) Alfred; his mother-in-law, Daisy Winkler his stepmother-in-law, Ellie Tussey; his sisters-in-law, Brenda (fiancé Jay Groob) Beyersdorfer and Sandy Tussey; his brother-in-law, Robert Taggart; and many nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; his fathers-in-law, Ronald Russey and Morgan Winkler; his brother-in-law, Gary Tussey; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Taggart.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fairfield West Baptist Church, 5345 Muskopf Road, Fairfield, Ohio 45014 with a service to follow at 7:00 PM. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Southwest Ohio for their loving care and to Fairfield West Baptist Church for their support and prayers through his extended illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veteran’s Charity of your choice or to The Ronald McDonald House.
