Daniel Russell Hancock, age 76 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Known to most as Dan, he was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 5, 1946 to the late Harold Russell Hancock and Charlotte (Schott) Hancock. Dan graduated from Oak Hills High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He served during the Vietnam War in the naval air corps. After completing his active duty enlistment, he transferred to the U.S. Navy Reserve. He went to work for General Electric, working as a welder for most of his career. In retirement, Dan enjoyed attending City of Hamilton council meetings and luncheons for GE retirees, but above all, Dan loved spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Mary Hancock; his son, Jim (Ann) Hancock; his daughters, Julie (Randy) Holt and Tina (Larry) Delk; his grandchildren, Victoria, Shelby, Summer and Hunter; his step-grandchildren, Christina and Jay; his many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild; his nieces, Lois and Kathy; as well as many extended family members and friends. Dan is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Bill Hancock and Bob Hancock. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Service at 12:00 NOON at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013 with Keith Brown of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Bridgetown Cemetery in Cincinnati.
